What sort of shoe would be best for football kicking?
I have been looking through various shoes such as: Adidas f50.8's, Nike total 90 laser's, Mizuno wave shinken's, and Adidas predator's. Any advantages in any of these?

Guys, football and my dad's socks?
My dad's feet sweat so bad that it drenches his socks and the bottom of his pant legs. When we watch football together he always takes his shoes off and it makes me throw up a little bit. His feet smell like nasty old cheese. I love football and my dad, how can i help the situation?

Another option is bannanas......a buddy of mine in HS had nasty smelling feet, we made him eat a bunch of bannanas and it cleared them right up. I think it's because of all the potassium.

I recently started playing with more experienced players than myself and just have my running shoes, haven't played football for quite a few years but I used to be pretty good....

You need the grip that studs give you to stay on your feet, especially in muddy conditions. Legally in Wales you're not allowed to play football on grass without boots.
But if you're asking do the more expensive boots make a difference as opposed to the cheap ones:
Not enough to justify the rip-off prices. They are slightly lighter, and give you slightly better control. Some give you a better shot, depending on brand! But regular boots are just fine as far as I'm concerned.
Reply:Football boots enhance the players performance. They allow for better grip to the grass, speed with the lighter boots and also allow the player to bend, control and swerve the ball as they often have rubber skill enhancement pads on the sides of the boots.
There is obviously a reason why professionals where boots instead of running shoes.

i think its "studs" - should be, actually.
cleats are different, and used in baseball if i'm not mistaken. besides you're looking for 5 letters. so, football boot must have studs (not a stud). whereas, baseball footwear has cleats (not cleat). so makes sense that its "studs".

i think its "studs" - should be, actually.
cleats are different, and used in baseball if i'm not mistaken. besides you're looking for 5 letters. so, football boot must have studs (not a stud). whereas, baseball footwear has cleats (not cleat). so makes sense that its "studs".

I did that before, big mistake... baseball cleats lack the right outer spikes for help changing direction (huge in football, not so much in baseball) and lack the proper ankle support. Look for football cleats with good ankle support for a kid.
Reply:I would say it kind of depends on how old your kid is. If they are 6, no. I would say Jr High is about the time when shoes actually start making a difference. When kids start to get bigger, having a shoe that has more cleats and creates greater traction starts to make a difference. Around the Jr High level, you will see baseball cleats go to more of a 6 spike model, while football cleats will have closer to 18 (or more), unless they are buying college type cleats that have interchangeable cleats for different conditions, but they still have 10 cleats per shoe.
As for the performance, yes. A tailback won't have the same ability to make a cut if he's only wearing a shoe with 6 spikes as opposed to the same back wearing a shoe with 12 spikes. Not to mention, as kids get older (high school) baseball shoes primarily use metal spikes as opposed to plastic cleats.

Football match - what to wear?
I've been invited to the Emirates Stadium this afternoon with a client (an Arsenal fan). I'm not a follower of football and have never been to a match before but this is part of a "thankyou" for the company I work for so I have to go. I understand that we're going to be hosted in a corporate box.
Only problem is - what do I wear? Jeans and a smart shirt? Trousers and a smart shirt? A suit? Jeans and t-shirt? Trainers? Work shoes?
From the football fans out there - what do you suggest?

I went to the Emirates Stadium a few weeks ago (freebie, like you) and it was cold. I wore a thin jumper and an overcoat and was still cold. Wifey wore what women call 'layers.' She was not cold!
Smart casual is fine, you'll fit in nicely - but remember that you may well be cold for two hours or more unless you wear some sort of jumper or jacket or vest.

I thought like you did so i went in just a trousers %26amp; shirt just looking casual. The people who atended the box i was in were wearing a mix of outfits. So i recommend you contact the person taking you if you want to feel a ease on what to wear.

I personally have the F50+ TRX FG White and red one for the field and it has been the best boot in the world for me. Shoots amazingly and has an amazing grip on the ball.
My indoor shoes have been a bit of a dilema. My F50.7 offered very little protection at the ankle while the Predator (not the new Power Swerve) has a small surface at the top so my shots are not very clean.

Hey, I've owned several adidas "indoor" boots and I never really liked them much because I find them as difficult to play in as Timberland docks, I don't get a god feel on the ball with them and they're too heavy to lug around as opposed to Nikes. If you want something with a good shooting surface, that's very lightweight (which I personally think is the most important characteristic of any good football boot as it facilitates speed) go for the Nike Air Zoom FS, you'll find it on prodirectsoccer.com or footlocker, and with regard to ankle protection, just wear an ankle guard if you're worried.

What type of shoe? Bball, Football, Outdoor, Running, Tennis, etc.
What features should I really look for?
You get the point, basically I want to buy a pair of shoes (teen guy), and I want them to perform well in all situations...like I said, primarily indoors (bball court), but a good bit of outdoors and concrete as well...
Online shoe sites (nike.com, reebok.com, others) have hundreds of shoes to choose from and I can't tell which ones are designed for what.

Go to a shoe store that specializes in running shoes and try on several brands. Don't buy something because you like the color. Tell the salesperson the activities you are going to be doing. Walk around the store. If the store has a treadmill, try them on the treadmill.
Don't forget to take a pair of your own socks, the style you always wear for workouts. Stores will have a supply of socks, but you can't count on them to have the style and thickness that you like.
Just a note, most running shoes are not build to take lateral stress. If you are going to participate in activities that require hard side-to-side action, such at basketball or tennis, make sure that your shoe is built to take it.

The other choice would be to pick the sport that you do the most and get a shoe specifically for that sport.

What is the difference between baseball and football cleats. I am using the baseball cleats for flag football.
I looked at a couple side by side, to be exact, the Adidas "Corner Blitz" was the youth football shoe. They had the "triple Star mid 5", also Adidas in my size. It look identical to the corner blitz with the exception of more cleat in the ball of the foot area. It looks like I would get better traction with the baseball cleats.

How much do you weigh? Have someone time you running 40 yards. You'll probably be a linebacker/ end but you're information isn't too comprehensive. If you're not very athletic you'll be on the line, because no team will put a player in a skill position because they're built for it, it's all about speed and agility. Your coaches will evaluate and find where's best for you. All positions are fun.

As a lax player myself i would use lax/football cleats because they are highcut shoes. Unlike soccer shoes they are not high cut so with all the movement in lax it would be very very easy to role over on your ankle in soccer cleats. With lax/football cleats they are made so you cannot go over on your ankle.

Im an eagle scout, a member of National Honors Society, and an almost strait A student...Spanish class....I weight lift, play football or play lacrosse everyday year round and im probably going to a highlevel college like UVA or UNC. Maybe these student athletes are just trying to make some cash like i do in my summer job. I consider myself a hard worker and a pretty good kid. And im not the only kid on my team thats like me. I wish people would stop being so narrow-minded. Just because a person enjoys playing the great sport of American Football doesnt make them a retarded druggie.

In my opinion, Adidas is the industry standard. They bring the most technological innovations to their product. I am partial to the any of the Predators and have the most current model, predator absolute. Since there are two versions, I would recommend the version composed of kangaroo leather as opposed to the Beckham signature shoe which has more snythetic materials in its construction.

My friends keep taking the piss as I find i can't play in my Shoes aswell as My astros. Ive told them that I feel more Comfortable in astros than in shoes. But they say it doesn't matter what your wearing on your feet (Like anyhing!). I said to them why do proffesional footballers pay like £200+ on boots i said it gives you more comfort and in my opinion more control over the ball. While they said it was purely for style reasons and the look of the boots.
Btw i wear Total 90s astros.
and play as a tricky right winger (Try =D) to style my play on C.Ronaldo or Glen Little.

well it depends on the individual. Most professionals have their shoes sculpted to their feet so that it fits them perfectly. as for us average Joe's it real depends on your own foot. If you have a wide or narrow foot, or a norm, high, or flat arch to it. But you want ankle support that is really important exp. with cleats.

I have been playing since i was a kid and i have never heard of that conserning the studs. The most important things is for you to feel comfertable in the shoes. If u don't feel comfertable then it won't allow u to play well and they might even hurt or give u blisters. So look a pair that u would feel comfertable playing in.

I play indoor soccer during the winter. After my first winter/spring practice on artificial grass, I realized how much slower I am on grass with cleats. My shoes felt like 2 bricks. Throughout the whole practice I felt like staying still and when I had the ball something just didn't feel right. My shots were way off, the accurary I developed with indoor shoes didn't coordinate with cleats. I have an old nike pair, don't know which model, probably 4-5 years old. So old i couldn't even find the model picture on the net. Anyways. I need some recommendations on what pairs I should buy. I need a shoe that feels light and offers great control for shooting and technique.

Hey people thanx if you can answer this. By curb I meen to bend the ball in the air. Roberto Carlos did that in a world cup scoring one of the most amazing fouls ever taken. By bending tehe ball in the air I mean changing the course of it by the effect that you put with the boot when you shoot it. Thanks

On my dad's old soccer team, this guy put rubber bands on the inside of his cleat, and this was to make it curve. I don't know how, but it worked, and he was the leading scorer on the team.
Or, you can buy cleats that curve it for you. David Beckham's shoe lets you curve the ball because of rubber on the inside of the shoe, and that shoe id the best out there, it is even used by pros!

A good shoe will help only in the contact. A good shoe will provide a smooth contact so that you have a large planar surface to strike the ball with instead of an irregular surface that will cause the ball to go off at odd angles.
It takes a lot of practice and skill to know how to strike the ball properly.

Now I wouldn't be surprised if he has it written on an undershirt or something, where it wouldn't violate the "dress code" but he would still have it on. Reply:Not on his shoes, that would be a uniform violation. Christians are to follow the law of the land, so to wear it in violation of the NFL would be going against the it. Now I wouldn't be surprised if he has it written on an undershirt or something, where it wouldn't violate the "dress code" but he would still have it on. Last I heard he just kinda laughed when they asked if he still wore it anywhere.
