Should Allen Iverson have continued with playing football?

Allen Iverson himself even admitted that football was his no.1 sport and that he is better in it.





hes only 6 feet in shoes and that is already a disadvantage in playing basketball, but would not be that much a disadvantage in football where you get to run in an open court.





people who watched him play also admitted that he was better and had more potential then michael vick and aaron brooks( both of whom are stars in the NFL )...

Should Allen Iverson have continued with playing football?
everything happens for a reason, and i think AI was really destined for basketball. i mean, when he looks back after his career is over and sees all his achievements in basketball (ROY, MVP, All-Star MVP, scoring titles, steals leader, Finals '01, not to mention all the highlight reels), would he still regret the decision to ditch football? perhaps, the grass could have been greener had he chosen to pursue pro football, but for everything he achieved throughout his basketball career, i don't think there's going to be any regret. he couldn't ask for a better career. he still has a few high-scoring and efficient years left in him, and he now has carmelo anthony to work with. they still have a chance to win all the marbles, and for sure, if the nuggets do win it all, then he'll be thanking God he was guided towards the road to basketball.





and besides, in spite of his size, he's still capable of mixing it up with the big boys, so i wouldn't say '6 feet in shoes' is a disadvantage. i mean, mugsy bogues, spud webb, and earl boykins did alright didn't they?

6'8-6'9, 250 lbs, fast/quick as hell, strong, and got hops!!!!

Reply:are you kidding me? What position would he play? QB? He would be able to see his receivers with that height. He lacks the physique to be a WR or a CB. At best he could have been a kick/punt returner.





He made the right career choice

2. At 6 foot tall, he would not have made it far as a QB in the NFL. You just do see many, if at all, 6 foot QB anymore.


3. His body is banged up just playing basketball, just imagine him playing a full contact sport.


4. His size is very small to play in the NFL.





Allen Iverson is a great athlete but the demand of the NFL game would punish his body very very quick.
