bout to try out for arena football 2 minor to arena football.......never played on turf....so never had turf shoes.....wats the major difference?
Difference between turf shoes and regular shoes?
Depends on if your talking old artifical turf or the new field-turf. Old artifical turf is like carpet with basically no knap. You can wear standard hi-top court shoes or a shoe made for that type of turf in which the sole is covered with small gripping nodes (about the size a small ball bearings).
If it's field-turf.. you wear standard football cleates because the surface acts very similar to real grass.
Reply:Turf shoes have a rugged bottom whereas regular tennis shoes are smooth surf...Turf shoes will give you that extra grip on turf (wet or dry). Tennis shoes will give you mini. traction on dry surface and 0% traction on wet surface. Cross training shoes are good as well. Good luck on your tryout buddy..
