Should my 15 year old daughter really have to get DD breast implants to make her cheerleader squad?

My daughter has always dreamed about being a cheerleader for her high school team. The tryouts for the squad began two weeks ago. They put the girls through different physical test to see if they are able to cut it as a cheerleader. My daughter seemed to be doing very well and was supposedly a shoe in to make the squad.

When I went to pick my daughter up from rehearsal yesterday the coach pulled me over to the side and explained to me that my daughter won't be able to make the team unless she gets breast implants.

He says that she is gifted but her breasts aren't big enough to keep the crowd or the football and basketball guys interested in what she is saying. He says that if she has the surgery and gets DD she will make the squad and possibly be the head cheerleader. Is he right? Should my daughter really have to get breast implants just to be a cheerleader?

I think that you should really consider doing it! My teen is 13 and she wanted to wear this really pretty dress for her 8th grade dance...but she didn't have the breasts to do it. She asked me and after a lot of thought I said she could...and we did it together....it was a mother, daughter moment....we also got face lifts, lipo on our shomach and thighs, and tattoos together! it was a great experience.....Now I can be happy to call myself the mother of a barbie doll! Beautiful!! :)
Reply:The coach is a dick head , dont do it.... DD"s ??? wow Report It

Reply:You really shouldnt do it Report It

Reply:The Coach needs his *** kicked Report It

Reply:Definately Not!!!

That is the stupidest reason for implants I heard of and the fact you are even mulling it over in your mind is crazy.

Why Cheerleading is such a big thing in the US is beyond me. We have great cheerleading squads but body (emphasis on breast) size was not mentioned as long as you could do the moves.

I had DDD breasts all my life from age 12 and 2 years ago had a breast reduction. I feel so much better - can go braless (much cooler in our hot summer heat), no more headaches, cutting into the shoulder from bra straps or back ache.

If you wish that for your daughter just so she can spend a few years as a cheerleader, then I can't say I think much of how important this obviously is to you.

You should report the Cheerleading coach to the school authorities and they should take action. Endangering a person of youth's health is disgusting.

Any doctor who would do that for that reason would be negligent too.
Reply:No, that's so incredibly pathetic. Like I always wanted to be a surgeon; but I didn't have to oversize my head and brain for it. I mean, no offense, but your daughter has many things to encounter in her life. She can't be a cheerleader forever, can she? I mean, fine that those implants will attract young men and make them drool; but reconsider; your daughter has to know that there's more important things in life. And it will save your money, though.

By the way, it's so incredibly sick of a person to tell you that. You, as a parent must think rationally and take the initiative! I would be insane if I let my girl undergo an operation...

I'm physician myself; but I don't need the status to know that it's just unbelievable to let a 15-year-old girl to undergo plastic surgery. You should talk to her very well, and if it's so difficult then I suggest you both to go to a shrink or doctor.
Reply:NO..

what kinda parent are you gonna allow a 15 yold girl to get implants for something shell do for like a year and quit...

....wow
Reply:I have never heard anything like this before in my life.....I was a cheerleader and co-captain of my squad for 3 years... Our coach never sugguested anything so degrading..If I was you, I would take that as an insult and report this to the superintendent's office and I would possibly seek some legal consult...You need to make sure that your daughter's BEST interest is protected...The school needs to be aware of what's happening...
Reply:SCRAP WHAT I SAID BEFORE!

I've read over you're previous questions and now I know that you are joking.
Reply:First off that person needs to be reported!

I have two beautiful daughters. My oldest is an entertainer and well known now in her late 20's. She is as flat as a boy but when you see her on stage you would be surprised. She tapes herself and also will wear bra's that push her up and in. What you need to do for your daughter is research on the web how these girls can naturally make themselves appear bigger. I really want to say just help her accept herself but having daughter now adults both in the industry I can relate. When they want something this bad you can not ignore that. No to the surgery, hold your ground. Look up horror stories about breast implants that have gone bad that will scare her to her senses. Good luck.
Reply:WOW! This is just too bizarre!
Reply:Instead of asking us, you should be jumping up and down at a Board of Education meeting, with a lawyer in tow.
Reply:first of all they wont perform that type of surgery on a 15 year old.. they will turn you right around and tell you to come back once she is fully developed and still wants them. Any dr that would do this is probably not a very reputable one and she'd probably end up with some sort of infection...

I highly doubt that this guy even came to you anad sad this.. if so he's just sick and twisted and you should report him. dont put your daughter through surgery just to make a cheer squad

the fact that you as a parent even had to ask this doesnt say much for you either
Reply:NO.. unless it is explicitly mentioned that one of the requirements to be in the cheerleading squad is to have a breast implant - which I think is questionable.

Who decides who qualifies? Is this coach that talked to you the only judge? Are there written rules? If you're unsure, then you better ask the proper school authorities.
Reply:You don't want to look like a porn star when you're just cheering a team. I think athletic body is better for balancing and other routines that are required for cheerleading. Sounds really strange that the coach gave such a stupid suggestion. You should definitely file a complaint against him. DD is too big for cheerleading anyway. Besides its really upto your daughter whatever she wants to do with her body. Implants MAY cause medical problem in the future. Most gals who get implants have a lower self-esteem because they feel that they are only appreciated when they are artificial. You have to ask yourself, Is cheerleading really worth all this?? I hope you'll thoroughly weigh the pros and cons before making your decision. Good luck!!
Reply:If I was you I will do this 4 things:

1. Report the coach, to the school and contact the city to report his license. He "should not" be looking at his students breast.

2. Your daughter will be better off at focusing in a real career and do the cheat leader thing just for fun.

3. Those implants will attack and promote things in her life that no 15 year old is ready for.

4. Do not let anybody try to talk you into it, even your daughter, she doesn't know she is only 15, YOU ARE THE BOSS. If she wants them tell her she can get them after she is a professional and she is able to pay for it herself.

DO NOT DO IT.
Reply:No, talk to the school this coach cannot say your daughter cant cheer because her boobs aint big enough {{ he sounds lyk a perve}}

For a 15 year old girl to go through that would be horible, expecially DD.

I say it isnt right but you gotta do whats right for you and you daughter.
Reply:No. If she needs to get implants just to be a cheerleader, forget it.
Reply:No, that's perverse.
Reply:That coach is freaking nuts! How dare he suggest that a 15 year old get implants. Report him to the school officials immediately.
Reply:I think I would report the coach. That is wrong in so many ways. I don't feel a 15 year old should have to worry about implants ever let alone to be a cheerleader. If she can't be picked on merit alone then I wouldn't want her to be a part of someones team who is so arrogant.
Reply:First off report the Coach! No 15 yr old should have to worry about breast implants. My daughters were both cheerleaders and not really well endowed. that's the worst thing I've ever heard!
Reply:Definately not!! He's so sexist.
Reply:first of all, speak with the principal of the school. also, DD is just a little to the extreme isn't it for a 15 year old girl?...i seriously think that the coach either doesn't want her on the team for some reasons so he requested such a tough change or wants her to get implants for his viewing pleasure...OR you're just asking this question as a joke because seriously, no parent in their right mind would even consider this request from a grade school coach and every parent knows that this violates some sort of school law.
Reply:NO. She should not change her look for others. She should bbe glad of who she is.
Reply:Hell no.

Thats the stupidest thing I've ever heard of. Tell that coach to get some brains and talk to the Principle about it.

Get that *ss fired.

She won't even be able to do cheers with that sort of implant.
Reply:*gasp* :O Cheerleading is not about breasts and getting the crowds attention with boobs!!! Cheerleading is suppose to be about supporting your team and having fun!! It makes me sick to know that a coach asked a cheerleader's mom to get her daughter breast implants so she can be on the team.. I would report this to the school board.. I don't know what kind of school that is but your daughter should get on the team and not have to have breasts implants..
Reply:That is probably the worst thing I have ever heard! There is no reason for that at all
Reply:this is stupid!!!
Reply:Oh, No No No No No!!!!!!!

That is just about the worst thing I've ever heard a "coach" say about an athlete's future.

First of all, DD breasts on a small frame (which she probably has if she has talent as a cheerleader) will just cause her back trouble when she gets older.

Secondly, high school cheering is a sport. It isn't a peepshow. I think comments like the one your daughter's coach made are so far out of line that he should be reprimanded (fired actually!) for sexual harassment and clearly not having the faintest idea what he's doing. To be quite honest with you, I wouldn't put my daughter on that creep's squad for anything!

Take this situation to the school administration. Your daughter shouldn't have to make those kinds of choices and they should know that one of their coaches is behaving in this manner.
Reply:no NO .... N O

stop desist
Reply:noooo!! wat are you thinking? you should tell her that she doesnt need to change herself for others. she is beautiful the way she is and getting bigger breast is not going to solve anything but make things worst. boost her self-esteem. if she doesnt make the team it's not the end of the world. please talk to her and tell her how you feel about this.
Reply:i cant believe as a mother your even asking people what they think!! i know mine would tell me to get real!! big boobs as a cheerleader would really get in th way so i cant understand why the coach wuld say this!
Reply:yeah, I think you should get them.

Meanwhile, I have some waterfront property in FL for sale that I would like to discuss with you.

ARE YOU SERIOUS?!? DO YOU REALLY NEED TO ASK THIS QUESTION?!?
