I have asked this before but I will go into more detail now. My 14 year old son broke his toe playing football on Sept. 4th and when we went for xrays the next day, the doctor said it was a chip where the big toe bends and that college and pro football players would keep playing with this type of injury and I asked the doctor if this was a season ending injury, the doctor told us no, 2 or 3 games. We go back a week later (Sept 11) for more xrays and he mentions ligaments and prabably not play again this season. When my son asked about playing the last game (Sept 25) he told us to come back on Sept 21st and xray again and maybe be able to tape it so he could play. Well we went back and he said no again. When my son asked if they made it to the championship game which would be played on Oct 6, the doctor said to come back on Oct 5 and bring his regular shoe and he would be out of the boot. We had to change the appointment to Oct, what chance do you think he will play this game. 8th grade
Broken big toe.?
HE's in 8th grade. I know how bad he probaby wants this but he'll be in high school next and at some point maybe play for a state or national title. Convince him to sit. Obvisously the doctor is concerned with all the appts he keeps recommending before he plays. This is a nagging injury that will bug him for the rest of his playing days. Just think of the chip and maybe that toe sliding into the end of his shoe and the pain(turf toe). but go with your doctor but I say make him rest he's 4 years of high school ball left.
Reply:hard to say, but the way your describing 25-40% chance, sorry, i had a big toe problem, there is nothing you can do to it but tape it to the second toe next to it and wait
