Anyway I recently moved twice in the last two years. One to TX, and one to NC, where I am now. While in 7th grade in TX, I decided join the football team. I'll skip ahead to about the 3/4 point after football and in conditioning ( training for 8th grade athletics ) So anyway, I had about a size 3 shoe in TX, when I was 12, which I already knew I had small feet. But while my ability to run faster and longer increased, I still ran slow, as I feel I was taking more steps than everyone else. By far, I easily knew I had like, the smallest feet on the football team. People were shocked on how small how my feet were. So, is it true that people with a normal leg length and smaller feet take smaller steps than people with bigger shoe sizes? I always felt as if I was always doing more work, because I felt that I took more steps, or at least much shorter one's. So what I am asking is, is it true that people with a smaller shoe sizes take more work to run and walk, etc. ? Some answers please.
( Small Feet ) More work when running?
People with small feet take shorter steps with people with larger feet only because normally your foot size is relative to your height and stride length which is determined by the length of your legs.
Speed is the relationship between the length of stride and the number of strides made within a given time.
There are people with unusually large feet for their size and no they are not faster than similarly sized people with smaller feet.
Conversely people with small feet for their size are not slower than similarly sized people with relatively larger feet.
The size of your step is determined by the strength of your muscles and the length of your legs, not the size of your feet.
Reply:No your shoe shoe size does not affect your running when you run properly.
To run properly your supposed to run on the balls and toes of your feet and not on your heels. Also need to pump your arms from you ear to your back pocket.
Reply:no
Reply:Shoe size doesn't relay change how fast you are, just like your height doesn't really matter all that much.
If you have small feet their lighter then bigger feet so your lifting less weight so it evens out
Reply:As the other answerer said, stride length is a function of leg length, not foot size. Think of your legs as pendulums. The longer they are, the longer the stride length. The feet have nothing to do with it.
As for your shoe size contributing to your speed, look at the size of the hoofs of antelopes. They are tiny and yet they can run 45mph+.
Reply:It shouldnt. As long as your legs are normal length then this should not affect your stride.
